South Lanarkshire College Campus Opening
Designed by Archial Architects the new South Lanarkshire College (SLC) brings together three campuses into one single site, purpose-built facility equipped with state of the art learning facilities. The SLC Campus officially opened by HRH The Princess Royal.
The design brief called for a building to accommodate a diverse range of disciplines including construction, hair and beauty and teaching kitchens as well as a range of IT and general teaching facilities – all to be combined in one building on a prominent site within East Kilbride. The accesses and site circulation presented design challenges which have been resolved to create a building which includes a high proportion of workshop space in a sympathetic manner.
The South Lanarkshire College Campus project was funded with assistance from the European Regional Development Fund and the Scottish Funding Council.

This campus is state-of-the-art providing students with a fantastic learning experience in industry standard facilities. Built in 2008, the property is renovated and updated routinely.

The South Lanarkshire College Foundation was registered as a charity on 20 February 2014 and has been an important source of funding for student projects, primarily at the College, but also in the wider region. A Board of Trustees resides over the Foundation’s funds, ensuring that organisations and groups in the most need are given financial support for projects that ensure the highest quality of further education for students is provided.
